The subject matter of data privacy is personal, individual-related data. Pursuant to § 3 par. 1 BDSG [German Data Privacy Law] data privacy refers to personal or factual circumstances relating to a certain or definable natural person, including e.g. data such as name, postal address, e-mail address or phone number, if applicable, also usage data.

Collection and use of your data

Automated data collection

In the process of accessing the websites of kb4dev your Internet browser automatically transmits data for technical reasons. The following data are saved separately from other data which you may under certain circumstances transmit to us:

  • Path of the retrieved URL
  • Date and time of the retrieval
  • Data volume transmitted
  • Message whether retrieval was successful
  • Information on browser used (type and version)
  • Operating system used

These data are saved exclusively for technical reasons and are not assigned to any certain person at any specific point of time.

Data entered by users

You can use kb4dev with or without a registration. In order to benefit from all advantages of kb4dev, it is necessary for you to register. To register all you have to do is to enter your e-mail address and select a password. We require these data so that you can use a personalised version of kb4dev and access the articles you have written. Your e-mail address can also be used for sending recommendations to friends. Your personalised data are transmitted via an encrypted SSL connection.

Search terms

In our aims to improve our website and our offer, we save the search data entered for statistical evaluations. These data are not assigned to any specific person at any point of time.

Circulation of data

For the purpose of handling payments, you will be forwarded to the selected payment provider. There you will have to enter the data required for payment, such as for example your credit card data. kb4dev itself has no access to these data. The collection and processing of such data lies solely within the responsibility of the respective payment service provider.

For the rest, your personal data will not be circulated without obtaining your explicit previous approval thereto ad principally only in the following cases:

  • If it serves to clarify an illegal use of the platform or if it is required for the purpose of prosecution, personal data will be forwarded to the law enforcement agencies, and also to damaged third parties, if applicable. This, however, only takes place if concrete evidence is given to substantiate an illegal resp. abusive behaviour. Personal data can also be circulated if this serves to enforce terms of use or other agreements. kb4dev is furthermore legally obliged to disclose information to certain public institutions on request. These are law enforcement agencies, authorities prosecuting offences which are penalised with a fine as well as the tax and revenue authorities.
  • We occasionally have to rely on contractually associated contractors and external service providers for the purpose of rendering services, for example, in the sectors of transmitting advertising measures (only in so far as you have explicitly agreed to these in advance), customer services as well as handling payments (credit card, invoice address etc.). In such cases information is forwarded to these companies resp. individuals to enable these persons/authorities to further process the data in concern. These external service providers are selected carefully by us and verified regularly to ensure that your privacy will be protected. The service providers are exclusively permitted to use the data for the purposes specified by kb4dev. The service providers are furthermore contractually bound by kb4dev to treat your date exclusively in line with this data privacy statement as well as according to the pertinent German data privacy laws.
  • Within the scope of further developing our business the structure of kb4dev GmbH may change by altering the legal form, or by establishing, purchasing or selling subsidiaries, business divisions or parts. In the case of transactions of that kind the customer information is transmitted together with the part of the company to be transferred. In the case of such transactions the information on customers is forwarded. Each time personal data is forwarded to a third party in the prescribed scope, kb4dev ensures that this takes place in agreement with this data privacy statement and in accordance with the pertinent data privacy regulations.

kb4dev offers you a cost-free Newsletter Service. With this Newsletter kb4dev informs on news at kb4dev as well as on participation in opinion polls, draws your attention to new products or services or passes information on to you which might possibly be interesting. We furthermore inform you in the newsletter on offers and on products offered by our cooperation partners.
You can unsubscribe from the Newsletter at any time. Each Newsletter contains information as to how you can unsubscribe from any future editions of the Newsletter.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. („Google“). Google Analytics applies so-called „Cookies“, these are text files which are saved on your computer and which enable an analysis on the use of our services by you. The information generated by the cookie on the use of our services is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and saved there. We use Google Analytics with an activated anonymising function. That means that only incomplete IP addresses are processed and only shortened IP addresses are saved. To anonymise the IP addresses each address is shortened by the last 8 bits. Google uses this information to analyse your use of our services in order to compose reports on the website activities for us and in order to render further services associated with website use on our behalf. Google will also circulate this information to third parties, if applicable, in so far as this is prescribed by law and in so far as third parties process these data on behalf of Google. Google AdSense / AdExchange

If Google AdSense or Google AdExchange, a web advertising service of Google Inc., USA ("Google"), places ads on this website (text ads, banners etc.) your browser might possibly save a Cookie sent by Google Inc. or another third party. If you access a website on our Internet presence which contains such a Plugin, your browser will establish a direct link to the servers of the respective service provider.
